1 Heart
Previous NextThis painting is the heaviest painting out of the collection. It has over 1,000 crystals on it. From Black, Red, & Clear crystals. In the middle you will see the Human heart in a realistic form as the organ. In the middle of the heart is the number 1. Painted in human pigment skin tones. With the clear distinction of the black and white around the 1 to yet again highlight yet again the difference between black and white non humans on earth. The red splatter on the smaller canvas is the heart exploding from sadness. On how humanity treats one another.
This painting has many layers to it. The number 1 is painted on hand carved wood. Glued on to a smaller canvas in the middle. Around it I painted the organ known as our human heart. I bought the wood from home goods, and spray painted one side black and one side white. I then glued that smaller canvas onto the spray painted wood. Creating the multiple levels of a 3d painting with layers of paint, spray, paint, canvas, and wood . The final touch was adding the crystals with Epoxy resin. I added 5 layers of Epoxy resin. That's 20 boxes of Epoxy. That's $600 dollars of epoxy on this painting. Letting all of you know the thought isn't for free, an artist's mind is priceless. The time we put in is countless hours and the art supplies we put in to create our art is expensive.
I did all of this not for the cost of the money, because money comes and goes, but instead for the message. The purpose. What is the point of art if there is no thought and purpose to it?
All of my art has thought , intent, meaning and purpose. Most of all it's meant to create conversation and inspire. My heart is your heart, your heart is my heart. We all have the same heart. Now how you treat your heart , love your heart, and love other hearts is up to you.
Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
